Flow 2 & Flow 2a Curved Stairlift
Access BDD or Thyssen Krupp as they are more commonly known are one of Europe's leading providers of stairlifts, home lifts and platform lift solutions. For over 20 years, by providing the highest level of support to it's customers, Thyssen have specialised in making life easier for both private and public customers.
The Flow2 tubular rail stairlift is the most advanced stairlift available when it comes to curved (round the corner)stairlifts and is also the smartest lift of its type.
The Flow2 is currently the only stairlift available which is capable of swivelling its travel both up and down the staircase. This unique feature makes the Flow2 stairlift capable of fitting almost every staircase, straight, curved or even spiral.
This neatly constructed stairlift looks elegant and simple on the outside, however the technology on the inside is extremely ingenious. The angle of the staircase can vary from -70 degrees up to 70 degrees.
Installed in just a few hours, the Flow 2 makes it easier and safer to get up and down stairs, saving you the trouble and expense of moving to a new home.
We also appreciate that homes come in many shapes and sizes, this is why the Flow2 has been specifically designed to be very versatile and capable of fitting snugly and unobtrusively to almost any staircase. A stairlift is a functioning appliance, but that does not mean it needs to look industrial.
The Flow2 has been designed as a piece of modern furniture, to blend subtly into your home. Coupled with a gentle operation, making it an attractive addition to any household.
To maximize floor space at the top and bottom of your staircase, the Flow rail can be extended to park the lift around the corner, as can be seen from the photographs. All of these features combine to make Flow a discreet addition to your home.
When not in use, the arms, seat and foot rest of Flow all fold away very simply. The image shows the Flow in its folded positions.
For your safety all Thyssen stair lifts are fitted as standard with a retractable seatbelt.
The control paddles are located on the end of the arm and operate with the lightest of touches. Ideal for those with limited dexterity. There are 4 choices available covering all possibilites.
Where staircase width is a challenge, the ‘Advanced Ride Monitoring System’ of the powered swivel feature turns the chair and footrest to travel past the narrowest staircase sections. This is an exclusive feature of Flow and ensures that Flow is flexible on staircases as narrow as 61cm.
The rail has been specially designed to stay very close to the edge of your staircase to maximize free space, as can be seen in the main image. The rail is only 8cm in diameter and four rail colours are available to ensure a pleasing match to your décor. The special ‘drop nose’ rail option is an added space saving feature if there should be an obstruction such as a door at the foot of your stairs.
All Thyssen stairlifts come with two handy remote controls. Particularly useful when there are two users of the stairlift.
To maximize floor space at the top and bottom of your staircase, the Flow rail can be extended to park the lift around the corner, as can be seen from the photographs. All of these features combine to make Flow a discreet addition to your home.
All Thyssen stairlifts are fitted with pressure sensitive safety edges as standard. Should the stairlift encounter an obstruction while travelling it will automatically stop.

The first thing to remember is that all stair lifts were not created equal! Although there is an ever growing demand for stair lift equipment, it is truly amazing how many out dated products are being installed in peoples homes throughout theUK. This old technology equipment can be troublesome for the user - why? - because it's unreliable. Things have moved on since the days of chain drives and trailing cables.
Modern stair lifts, like the Thyssen Flow 2 Stair Lift, are state of the art, in terms of design and manufacture, yet are so simple to install and maintain.
As with most things - there is a baffling amount of choice out there in the marketplace. When choosing a piece of equipment like a stair lift, it is important to ensure that you are making like-for-like comparisons. Think carefully when buying this type of product via the internet. Your first real opportunity to clearly see the features, engineering (and limitations) of your new stair lift, are when it arrives on your doorstep.
